Arrival

After navigating through the Honolulu airport to catch our inter-island flight to Kona, it took some encouragement to get Trina and Gabby on "ANOTHER AIRPLANE"! I promised it would be way shorter than our last flight and they conceded. While we were waiting for take-off, Trina and Gabby were thumbing through the airline magazine. There was a necklace with a jeweled plumeria flower pendant on it. "That is one of the flowers of Hawaii," I said. Gabby turned the page where there was a necklace with a jeweled flip-flop on it. "Is this the flip-flop of Hoo-waii?" she asked. The next page had a necklace with a jeweled palm tree on it. "And this is the palm tree of Hoo-waii, huh mom," she said. We sat by the window, and the ocean was a beautiful aqua-blue as we took off from the Oahu shoreline and landed on the big island...we had finally arrived! We rented a van and dilly-dallied through Kailua-Kona. It was a cute sea-side community with beach, beach and more beach. We pulled up to the Wyndam at Royal Sea Cliffs and checked in. The courtyard gardens were beautiful and they opened up to, you guessed it, the ocean.
