Kona Hawaii Temple

Did you know that there is a temple in Kona?! We were driving past Wal-Mart and couldn't help but notice Moroni peeking above the foliage in the distance. Saturday night was daylight savings so we dutifully turned our clocks forward one hour. We looked up the local ward to go to church on Sunday and decided to hit the 11:00 am Sacrament meeting. We walked in just in time to sing, "Sing we now at Parting". Yep, it was the closing hymn and guess what? Hawaii doesn't have daylight savings! So we left and walked around the temple grounds (which happen to be right next to the chapel) until the next Sacrament meeting which started about 45 minutes later. We met some really nice people who gave us some good tourist tips for the area and we took some photos. Aren't hibiscus flowers beautiful?

I looked at that pic and said I didn't even know there was a Kona Temple and then scrolled down and saw that you didn't know either. I can't believe you decided so quickly to go to Hawaii....that's not like, let's get in the car and drive to Disney Land. What an adventuresome one you are-my kind of girl. Sounds like you had a blast.

It's beautiful. It looks like the Timpanogos in American Fork.
